This is my first blog post on the jazzed-up new TDS website! A special thanks goes to Mary Lulich of Rocket Girl Sites who did a fantastic job “shining up” the Pennys!
I hope to be posting at least once a week to try to give you readers a peek behind the curtain in my process, and to keep you up on the Crustwood gang happenings! I love creating this comic and the daily comments and mail from fans is truly what keeps me going- you guys have been great. Unfortunately the newspaper biz is not in such great shape and I seem to be losing papers every year. Though readers can find it online once The Dinette Set disappears from their local paper, losing revenue from newspapers makes it very hard to continue this living. I don’t have any intention of discontinuing the daily reporting of Penny & friends’ foibles, but I would ask of you readers to make your voice known to your local newspaper and let them know that The Dinette Set is worth keeping!
On a lighter note…
Burl & Joy are “stuck” inside today trying to decide which snack to eat now and what they should save for this afternoon when their neighbors Dale & Marlene come over. They’re leaning towards “saving” the Ritz Bits for Dale & Marlene and having the cheese ball and full-sized Ritz for their snack now since they will probably have a later lunch.
